too much inexperience by many players of the US team. Three rookies, and one player that hasn't even played an NBA game. Not enough time to prepare, not able to adjust to stupid international rules. I also blame a lot of those pussy asses that declined to play. It would be soooo much more helpful to have a good outside shooter, especially against the zone defense where it can be difficult penetrate the D. The people that picked the substitutions for the players that declined made some bad choices. Come on, Okafor? I'm sure he'll do a goodjob in the NBA, but the man hasn't even played ONE game yet. Lacking a balanced, and experienced team has really hurt them.

I agree that we need an outside shooter, but the inexperience comes from the lack of experience of international play by ALL the players. Puerto Rico had only one NBA player, and obviously the lack of NBA experience didn't hurt them today. In fact, Emeka Okafor might be more prepared than most cause college basketball is closer to international basketball than the NBA is.

Haha, the Spurs are made of a bunch of European players. It's like their entire starting 5 is international: Duncan, Parker, Ginobili, Turklolu, Nesterovic.
