I have no issue with it, these guys are over there risking there fucking lives for our freedom. Say what you want about the war in general and wether the troops should be there in the first place but thats not a decision being made by the troops on the ground, they are just doing there job.

I would have no issue if they were caught chopping off insurgents heads and pissing into the stumps, whatever you gotta to to deal with the stress of being shot and and watching your friends get blown to pieces every day is fine with me.

I agree, that's why our troops need to gtfo so that the Middle East can continue laying waste to itself. I wouldn't blink.

Im not even american for one, but i didnt mean in this specific case, i totally do NOT agree with the war in afganistan. I ment soldiers in general, not this specific deployment.

This is about specifics though.

And its easy to argue that the insurgents are fighting for freedom more than we are. I dont like or agree with them but at the end of the day we are the invaders after all.

Not the soldier's fault. Stick someone who volunteered to serve their country in some shithole for no reason for a decade, deployment after deployment, watching all their buddies lose life and limb, watching their kids grow up without them, watching their wives leave them for never being home, fighting a war with two hands tied behind their backs, and you're gonna have much worse shit than this start happening on a daily basis.

Don't blame the troops, blame the assholes that sent them there.

You can you that argument to justify everything the insurgents do as well, with the bonus of their homes and loved ones being blown up.

Yeah, I think we should respect international boarders a lot more. Things that happen in other countries may be shitty but running in all guns blazing just seems to make it worse.

In the end I think invading a country should be an extreme act that is only done when theres a real danger to us of a magnitude that needs that sort of response. Otherwise we get dragged into these stupid peace keeping/nation building roles that just seem to piss everyone off.

If the enemy dosn't respect borders...you tie both your hands on your back...and might as well roll over and die.

You adapt you tactics to the enemy...not a fixed set of rules...but then again most rules are made by people with no balls and no combat experience...

If "the enemy" crosses your border and attacks you then thats pretty much a declaration of war anyway, go kill them.

If the enemy happens to be crossing a border thats not yours anyway then its really none of your business unless the border belongs to an ally or that invasion is going to cause you big probs (think WW2).

If the enemy is a not representative of a national government then things get a bit more tricky. I'd still say invasion and occupation is an extreme response though.

Don't get me wrong, i get it, we're supposed to be "better" than them, not "lowering" ourselves to their level. Thing is, they make videos cutting goddamn heads off, then they hold that head up to the camera. Animals like them fly planes into buildings, strap bombs to themselves to kill anything around them, decapitate journalists and record it, etc. Our soldiers live there, day in and day out, and get to see first hand what their enemy is. Animals. Subject yourself to that situation, stress, environment, experience, and see if you come out ahead morally 24/7/365/∞.

Some were along the lines some muppet introduced the notion of "clean warfare" and made up some rules sitting behind a desk, that makes no sense in reality.

If it where up to me, a mosque or a church wouldn't be "cannot shoot/bomb even if enemy inside"...but just a building housing hostile firing at you...and thus a legal target.

Blame the guys inside the mosque for it's destrcution....and for taking a dumb on islam...not the ones returning fire.

To many fuzzy-warm-feeling moron that should shut the fuck up...unless they are laying in the ditch right beside you...taking incomming.

Thing is we make up weird moral reasons for being there in the first place, to then throw out those morals makes the whole exercise pointless.
