US to hand Saddam Back to Iraqi's after June 30th

Not sure what to make of it. I wonder if it's a pass-the-hot-potato move, or would really beneficial to the Iraqi's for some sor of reconsiliation. One of the worst things to see is a protracted public legal battle a la Milosovich with only a dubious chance for conviction. I imagine giving him back to the Iraqi's ==> Saddam=toast very quickly.

Not really sure? I have always wondered just what the hell they were going to do with him. It could be a bad move for sure.

Does it matter? After the 30'th the Iraqis will not have any law enforcement or security forces, no Iraqi courts, the ones who will judge him are Americans.

For those of you who who STILL haven't got it (and think the puppet government means anything), Iraq will be in the hands of the US forces for another decade.

They may have no law enforcement, no security forces, every law they write has to be reviewed by the US, it is nothing more than a 51'st state inhabited by arabs, and the killings will continue... Until the US decides to remove the troops, then there will be a civil war, sometime around 2030 there might be peace and the US will claim they were successful once again.

I think they should put him back in charge. Maybe he can restore order.

The US tried his way, torture, not very successfully though, when the bear is out of the cage, it takes a lot of effort to get it back in, he was in the cage, the US let him out, bad move...

$5 will get you $500, they chop of his head, put it on a pole, and parade it around. All the while dancing and cavorting about as if candy will fall out of it any moment. Barbaric, but still better than he deserves no doubt.
