USA Today
Well, they are PLANING to do it, so we don't know when/if it will happen. Where would they be taken to?

The below is via US State Department - Link
This Travel Warning is being issued to warn Americans to defer travel to India. Conditions along India's border with Pakistan and in the state of Jammu & Kashmir have deteriorated. Tensions have risen to serious levels and the risk of intensified military hostilities between India and Pakistan cannot be ruled out.... The Department of State urges American citizens who remain in India to consider departing the country.

Warning for Pakistan travel

I heard about that on the radio today. You think they know something we don't? It's got to be scary living in that part of the world right now.

Those are just contingency plans. I think there are also a lot more than 65k Americans in India and Pakistan together. As the article says a lot of people particularly tourists or those who are there to visit family etc. never bother to check in with the Embassy or a local consulate.

That isnt that bad an evacuation.. India evacuated nearly 200,000 people when the gulf war started. They hold the record for that feat.

They flew 15 flights continuously per day. .. and used ships for rescuing people who couldnt pay the heavily discounted flight ticket.

Evacuated them from where to where?

I can't image 200,000 Indians living in Kuwait.
