I have a neighbor, who stockpiles crack cocaine in his basement, and is running prostituion upstairs. He trains his kids how to defend the house with rifles and switchblades if anyone were to try and step in. His wife pretends to be mentally disabled so she can get SSI monies for it, even though she's not really stupid. The police tried confronting them, but they didn't have a warrant because the judge was pre-occupied with a coverup where he was caught having an affair with his secretary. But this was a year ago, and nothing has changed at my neighbors. The judge left office and was replaced by another, who is willing to serve a search warrant. Unfortunately, there are a few in the neighborhood who don't want anybody to confront the situation in that house, because, heck, we didn't do anything about it a year ago so why do we need to start any trouble now?

in case you're wondering, the scenario above is made up.

This is all based off of the assumption that your neighbour really is stockpiling sh!t .. but maybe your just listening to your other neighbour that old spinster next door who likes to make up stories?
Remember that old saying .. "truth is the first casualty of war"
I still don't know how justifiable the gulf war was ... and for your information, there are many injustices happening throughout the world at this moment that make the Iraqi occupation of Kuwait look like kids play .. another thing, I hear that india nad pakistan are stockpiling nuclear weopons too .. fvck, if you're gonna go after Iraq, then you better be going after them too .. and go get Turkey while you're at it, because they've killed more Kurds than Iraq has .. and yadda yadda yadda

but lets forget all of that, because the drum of war is beating and it's fvcking catchy!!!
Spin that record CNN!

think I read on some news site that clienton wanted to go after him after the embassy bombng but the republicans stopped it in congress

I believe he had the 'go' from the Republicans and even the Democrats standing in the way now were for us going in in '98.

Earlier, President Bush sent a draft resolution to Congress, asking it to authorise all necessary and appropriate means to ensure Iraqi compliance with UN resolutions and to restore peace and security to the region.

Good idea! But when will US "ensure" Israel's compliance with UN resolutions?

I would assume when Israel's Islamic brethren stop attacking it with soldiers, militia, missiles and suicide bombers.

I smell a turd... I think this is all about oil and Israel.

Not much point in arguing about it. Bush and company are going to do whatever they please. We are at the mercy of puppets!

Actually it is your diaper that needs attention.;)

Bush has about a 70% approval rating of his handleing of foreign affairs. The American Public is behind him. If that's your definition of Bush and company, so be it.

That only means that either:

a: Bush and company have successfully managed to trick 70% of the population
b: 70% of the population think that this is as good as it gets because they lack any freedom of thought and creativity
c: 70% of the population are mindless goats
d: General Electric and Time Warner (who own everything) have successfully turned the television (alpha waves, well documented stuff here folks) and Media (CNN, MSNBC ETC) into the best goddamn propaganda the world has ever seen.

I smell another turd in those numbers! Naw, I like Bush. I think he's doing decent job. I just question the motives of the administration.

nice scenario, the only problem is it is not the judge who wants to serve the search warrant but a strong neighbour who wants to destroy the house.

A 70% approval rating in or around times of conflict mean nothing about how the people really feel about their president. We could have a beaver with down syndrome as our president in wartime and that beaver would enjoy skyhigh approval ratings and accolades from our profit-from-war news agencies.

Let's not forget that Bush v1.0 went from the best approval ratings EVER to losing an election once the gulf war fizzled out.

Approval ratings and polls must be taken with a grain of salt. Unfortunately, average Americans usually lack adequate knowledge on the issues so they really can't make proper assessments of their politicians and their actions.
