<< Haha. Good for them! >>

Great story of his bravery, but don't you think the reporter gave away too much information about the parents? last name, city, state...everything except their street address (which is easily found on the internet...)..

Al Qaeda isn't a traditional enemy....they probably still have sleeper cells here, plus probably some wacko sympathizers. Revenge & terror is their speciality.

Doesn't the military have rules about giving out too much information like that? I remember a few months ago, soldiers being interviewed could only give their first name or nicknames...

i agree. sometimes you guys make me sick..did you stop and think for a second that the men who died could of been someone's husband, father, son, brother, etcetera. regardless, of who did what to who..death is not something to jeer about. just be fortunate we can sit behind our computers.

I am sure those bastards thought about all the orphans they would make and all the misery they would cause when their leaders decided to crash two planes into the WTC. I am also sure they thought about social reform too in Afghanistan when they decided to take over the country along with their Taliban buddies.

So no, I don't feel bad about those @ssholes getting killed over there. I could care less if their moms were camels either.

Why must the death of four people be glamourized?

They are not people, they are savages that must be cleansed. The only cleansing is the spilling of their sinful blood. The Great Americans lead by God will carry out wrathful vengence upon the beastly savages with justice and might.

GOD BLESS AMERICA!

I'm sure they didn't consider the lives they've ruined either, but maybe it should be our role to stand above the rest and be the purveyors of reason... of good will. Our actions now are just as fueled with hatred as theirs were. Let's not try to justify more unwanted suffering.

Good point. Someone should get the rest of their families.

stand above? so what? they can do it again? don't you understand that they will continue to do things like the 9/11 attacks unless they are taken care of? 😕

It is regrettable that anyone has to die, and it is regrettable and stupid that these enemy soldiers chose the path they did.

I do not celebrate thier deaths, but I do feel happy that the American soldiers were able to eliminate the direct threat they posed, and that the one soldier was so brave in risking his own life for his fellow soldiers.

Not when I had to bury two of my friends and nearly one of my best friends. By getting rid of these conscience-less murderous bastards, I know our society will be better off. I could give a rat's ass about their society. They brought the fight to us and me not the other way around.

When they are stinkin terrorists who are getting what they deserved!

Vengeance is not justice. Violence is seldom just.

Yes, and rain fire down upon them!

Cool, some peaceniks have popped in. Let the games begin!

Good job!

<< I hope someone said MUH-MUH-MUH-MONSTER KILL! over the radio >>

ROFLMAO!!! Classic. 😀

I think that the movie Unforgiven had a good line that expresses my sentiments of how we should fight over there. It goes as follows... "All right now, I'm comin' out. Any man I see out there, I'm gonna shoot him. Any sumb!tch takes a shot at me, I'm not only gonna kill him, but I'm gonna kill his wife. All his friends. Burn his damn house down."

Russ:

Didn't you hear? The U.S. Armed Forces are pulling back, and instead we are forming and sending over a "Peace and Love Hug Platoon" who will:

A) Talk sense to Al Quida and the Taliban.

B) Give them hugs.

C) Resolve this conflict without violence.

Should they fail, we will resort to the violence again - so every peace-nik needs to get to Berkely (the recruitment center) pronto!

<< Why must the death of four people be glamourized? >>

If they didn't want to die all they had to do was step off the train tracks. Instead they chose to play hide-and-go-seek with a superior opponent. Tough sh!t for them.

😀

You know, you're right. I skipped lunch today, so at this point, I might as well start a hunger strike. Can somebody get a message to Afghanistan and let them know that I won't be eating until everybody can play nice? TIA

Genocide. It's a scary word. When you hear it, images of Hitler, concentration camps, and swastikas come about. So why do I bring it up? Because it is defined as the following:

genocide - The systematic and planned extermination of an entire national, racial, political, or ethnic group.

We are in the midst of a war. A so-called War On Terror. A war to abolish terrorism in every recognizable form. By doing so, we target a group of people with similar beliefs... those who believe that extreme acts make bold statements. Their acts are often direct causes of injury and death in both small and large scales. So how do we stop it? The common answer is to kill them all. ALL!

Is this at all possible? The United States and its Allies possess incredible military strength. At our leisure, we can press a few buttons and destroy the entire human race (along with quite a few other species as well). But, how do we do the same with just terrorists? How do we pick and choose these people out of billions, pop a bullet in their heads, and finally feel safe? We simply can't. It would be like declaring war on people who didn't like lima beans. Like trying to extinguish every single cockaroach, flea, ant, and rat in your apartment and making sure they never come back again. Impossible.

Violence is a continuous cycle... "An eye for an eye." Terrorists have hit us in the past and made an enormous impact on 9-11. Fueled by anger and newfound patriotism, we hit them back. Sure, the newspapers always tell the public about our successful attacks, and seemingly, we are winning this war. Perhaps we will not see another huge terrorist act in ten, twenty, or thirty years. BUT... one day it will happen again. A sudden attack in the heart of our beloved country. They might even be planning it right now... scary isn't it. But don't fear! We'll hit them hard again!! And the cycle will continue... forever.

Terrorists are, by definition, violent. I'm sure they understand its cyclic nature. They want us to hit them back so that they can retaliate further. That is why I think they are winning. They obviously welcome violence and believe they can benefit from it. That's why I think we should be the moral leaders of the world and not just the biggest gun. Unfortunately, political superpowers are built with two things... blood and money. But guess what? Terrorism is built with the same two things. We are only at peace with ourselves because we believe we are doing good.

We are only at peace with ourselves because we believe we are doing good.

Or until those bastards strike again. There is no way you can turn a blind eye to terrorists. If you don't go after them and wait and allow them to regroup, I'm sure they will come back again and hit harder. The only way to reason with these animals is with violence. Pure and simple. You reduce them to a shell of what they are and they will no longer cause problems. These people aren't bacteria (no offense to bacteria). They don't just spontaneously reproduce. It might take them forever to get anywhere near the strength they were just 6 months ago. If you allow them to live then you are just asking for another terrorist attack because you cannot reason with them.

Terrorists have a reason for their actions, no matter how twisted.

Since you can't possibly exterminate all terrorists (which would still be mere vengeance), the only just course of action would be to act on their reason(s).

PHEW! now he can stop picking on me!

pyonir: ROFL, that's being a good sport.

Since you can't possibly exterminate all terrorists (which would still be mere vengeance), the only just course of action would be to act on their reason(s).

**sigh** Vengence remains a matter of perception. Over 200 million of us perceive the extermination of Al-Qaeda as more a matter of self-defense and survival. Should we not exterminate them, then they will undoubtedly exterminate us.

The image of the Al Queda guys popping out of caves reminds me of that game at arcades where you wait for gophers to stick their head up, then hit them with a mallet.

Whack-a-mole, I think it's called.....

Good for them.

Anybody who thinks this is cruel needs to watch the video of the WTC going down again, then see how bad you feel for these 4 members of the ENEMY's army.

<< The common answer is to kill them all. ALL! >>

That is correct. Kill them all, let God sort them out.

Not to bring some of those evil, sabre-toothed Facts into the conversation, but:

The best thing you can do to prevent future terrorist attacks--particularly the suicide variety--is a) not to give into the terrorists' demands and b) to kick the terrorist organizations in the nuts repeatedly, then work them over with a blackjack until they're sufficiently bloodied.

Suicide attacks have been on the rise since about 1983, when Hezbollah bombed the US marine camp. List to follow:

year group goal #attacks/killed target behavior

1983 \ Hezbollah \ US out of Lebanon \ 5/503 \ complete withdrawal

1958-6 \ Hezbollah \ IDF out of Lebanon \ 22/72 \ Partial withdrawal

1987-9 \ Tigers \ IPK out of Sri Lanka \ ?? \ Complete withdrawal

1994 \ Hamas \ IDF withdrawal \ 2/15 \ Gaza withdrawal

94-5 \ Hamas \ IDF W. Bank withd. \ 7/77 \ Partial withd

96 \ Hamas \ Retaliation for assassination \4/62 \ (no specific goal)

97 \ Hamas Israeli withdrawal \ 3/24 \ Hamas leader released

95-99 \ PPK \ Release jailed leader \ 23/50 \ Failure

ONGOING

95 \ Tigers \ Sinhalese out of Jaffna \ 70+/1000+

96 \ Al Qaeda \ US out of Saudi Arabia \ 19/3000+

00 \ Hamas \ Israel withdrawal \ 8/75+

Seems pretty obvious that giving into demands ends the suicide attacks, but at an insanely high cost.

While I don't delight in the death of anybody, all those filthy SOBs knew they were getting into a shooting contest; I can't feel sorry for them.

edit: yeh sorry it's ugly. whadayawant, i have a paper due soon 🙂

edit 2: these numbers are from a political scientist by the name of bob pape. you can read his book called "bombing to win" if you want. not published anywhere, but he gave a lecture in my strategy class.

That is the LAST thing we should do. I agree with nothing you say Elledan, but I gave you enough credit to think you were smarter than that. Apparently, I was wrong.
