US shipping to Canada question?

Can someone tell me how much the brokerage fees will be? or How they're calculated as I will ship via UPS if no one can tell me. And USPS has customs fees...wouldn't those to even out?

Offer then shipping insurance, and if they don't take it, ship USPS without DC. You have their money already and you know you sent their item.
From the moment it leaves your hands it shouldn't be your responsibility anymore unless they pay for insurance. Obviously as long as it's packed well.
If they do take insurance, then you give them a choice as to which service they want you to use.

Well, not that simple. USPS starts at $60 already. Unless I go the 3-4 weeks route which under no circumstances I will go. I might as well just send it through UPS with a declared value of $50 IF the brokerage fees are calulated on the VALUE and not the size/weight.

Problem is the money order already arrived. I need to ship out tomorrow and need to decide the cheapest method. I don't want to go and change the terms on the buyer but we did agree on cheapest shipping method....and I did state buyer pays for all shipping costs.

How much is customs from USPS anyways? That can't be cheap and that has to equal or come close to the brokerage fees.

I don't understand why the USPS empolyees would lie to me about it not tracking outside of the US. I seriously don't understand why the USPS doesn't provide DC with Global priority, forcing you to upgrade to nearly 2x the cost for DC!

Because USPS doesn't have any offices outside of the US. They have to negotiate rates with other postal systems to obtain tracking outside of the border, and this doesn't come cheap, nor is it consistent.

USPS/ Canada Post has no customs fees. They buyer will be responsible for paying sales Taxes on the item. (in manitoba we have 14% tax) so all I would have to pay if I buy something from the states and have it shipped to me is 14%. If you would ship UPS to me, I would have to pay the 14%, plus whatever their brokerage fee is. (Which you would probably need to call UPS to find out what value it is.

editJust did a google search and found it. here. So here is the list:

But ifwhat the employeesat USPS tell me is true, thn th tracking doesn't stem outside of the US. how would they need to do anything? And $35 for tracking? You gotta be kidding me.

help me answer my question...i need to ship.

pay $65 for USPS global express to ship 25lbs to canada
or
pay $27 for UPS to do the same and declare the value at like $190?

The only problem w/ under declaring the value is that

1. it is illegal.
2. If you get caught, the buyer will have the items seized, and he could be fined $500
3. If something happens (Breakage) the max amount u can insure is the amount you claim.

If this guy is an established trader, he will have no problem understanding that you will ship UPS and claim everything legit, and he will have to pay brokerage/and taxes on that, or he can pay the difference to ship USPS.

I'm not sure whether they're established or not. I'm pming the person now and waiting for a response before shipping. I really don't want to cause the receiver to dish out mucho $$ in fees nor do I want to pay $38 more to ship an item than it has to be..

Regarding the camera, I'll just ship that usps since it's only $9 difference I guess. But darn canada and their "international rates"
