walmart clearances are almost never replicable since each store has it's own. $7 for a USR 56k modem is nice, but i'm already @ the point where none of my computer have modems anymore. not even for backup.

I am setting up a fax server, and wanted 3 of these. I just ran up to Walmart here in Vegas, and they are on clearance for $60. I will keep an eye on them. Hopefully, they will knock em down further soon. Great deal for $7. I was really hoping to get a couple for that price. Oh, well!

These are hardware modems, not soft or winmodems. Nice! Too bad i don't really need one.

"$60 at the Troy, Michigan Walmart. Man I wish I could get a deal like this one."
officemax has some for around $17
would never have posted it on it's own, but now it's out of the bag

I just checked my local and they had 3 on the clearance shelf for $58. I then proceeded to the computer aisle and they had half dozen or so there with the shelf tag saying $29.

i wish i had a link to kevin rice's old threads when he worked for next gen and dailyradar; he had articles on how to optimize those bad boys to the fullest... google is not helping me find him, unfortunately :(
