<rant> Ever think you'll just "run" into the post office and get out? HA! Ain't gonna happen! I needed one fricken stamp. Their dumb ass machines don't sell ONE stamp! Nooooo....you have to stand in line and watch the WORLD'S slowest, most over paid employees fiddle fvck off at their jobs! Honestly, the average Mc'D's employee moves 5x faster than these people! </rant> Sorry, had to vent.

Their machines sell individual stamps. I buy individual stamps all the time.
Agreed. Cannot think of a single post office I have been in (and there are a number of them in Nyc) that doesn't have at least one machine.

You see, that's why you buy a book of stamps and leave them in your car. I do that all the time when I only need one stamp to mail something out. Heck, I even have 4 stamps in my wallet just in case. I GO PREPARED...unlike some people...

I live in a jerky little town so a trip to the post office takes only a few minutes unless tha gal wants to give you all the local gossip.

I spite of that, I only buy stamps once a year.

Post offices vary a lot depending on where you live. The ones in Redondo Beach and Inglewood, CA are broken down, the machines don't work, and the workers are the slowest I've ever seen anywhere... I think it's because they're behind the bullet-proof windows and they know you can't get to them.

I'll actually drive fifteen minutes (if no traffic) to the post office near LAX. It's open from 7am to 11PM, they're well stocked, their machines are up-to-date and work, and there's ALWAYS a line... but there's always like ten windows open so the line moves.
