This thing gives an estimate of the current population of the United States down to the second.. Of course its just an estimate so its not perfect, but its still fun to play with..

(I searched for POPClock and Population Clock..... I hope its not a repost)
BTW, I got this from www.thescreensavers.com

edit: the estimated population of the United States was 287,744,128 when I posted this.
edit: Please dont hold me responsible if this becomes a KING SIZED NEF thread :(

i remember at some museum (i forget where, i think around new england), it had a clock that showed the net population increase at 1 per 148 seconds. of course, that was about 10 years ago.

287,744,315 now

Look at 1918 in the history. That does not count men overseas, so it appears to have dropped...

I think that's exactly why it appears to have dropped.
We had a sh1tload of men overseas during WWI.

NOTE:
National population data for the years 1900 to 1949 exclude the
population residing in Alaska and Hawaii. National population data for the
years 1940 to 1979 cover the resident population plus Armed Forces overseas.
National population data for all other years cover only the resident
population. Estimates of the population including Armed Forces
overseas are as follows:

1919 105,063,000
1918 104,550,000
1917 103,414,000

Counting all the people who immigrate and all the people that emigrate, the net result is a gain of one person every 29 seconds on average.

actually it might be nice to have more ppl in the US, cuz combine that clock with the national debt counter, and u'll want more ppl to pay that debt off.
