alarms, VCRs and microwaves do it automatically?

who are you and are you from the future?!?!?!?

ehh my 4 year old VCR does this, it even sets the time itself and its always right

but now nothing will support the change... cell phones won't alarms wont because they do it based on date but now it won't do it at the right time.

fantastic

So, people do ralize this was done once before. in the 70s. It's a method to conserve gasoline. And it actually worked in the past.

Is this really your only issue with this proposed change?

yea whatever, i think the whole idea of daylight savings time is retarted to begin with, instead of going an hour back and forth, we shoudl just move it 30 min and LEAVE IT THERE

The more I look at this, the more I like it.

This would mean that Sunset here in the Pacific Northwest is at 5:45 instead of 4:45 in mid November. That would kick ass.

Now allow some states to shift from one zone to another.

Sucks being in Pacific time when majority of the state would work better on Mtn time.

Right now it is full daylight at 5AM

Cell phones receive their time zone info (newer ones) from the cell tower. This won't affect them. VCRs/Alarm clocks=fvcked.

You've never seen a VCR, alarm clock or microwave that will do that? I guess I am from the future, if you are living in 1989.

From what I remember, farmers hate DST for precisely that reason.

Indiana and Arizona, I think, are the states that don't follow DST anyway.

Why not change working, shopping, schools, etc. hours and leave the clocks alone?

Cell phones get their time synchronized by the vendor - it won't be that hard to adjust it on their end.

Some people are just afraid of progress... I would like lead back in my gasoline please...

Indianna is talking about moving the rest of the state to DST. Portions near large out-of-state cities already have DST.

Hawaii also does not switch clocks.
