US Mint "giving away" dollar coins.

EDIT: Deal looks like it's only for 4 coins and a display, not much of a deal really.

If this is not a repost..

In yesterday's paper there was a full page about the US Mint DoT giving away i think about 40 $1 coins (presidents) in plastic/display etc. I went ahead and called and it totalled $12 shipped. Ad says they're doing it nonstop until 72 hours end and as long as you get through the line you can place the order.

1-800-761-7917, use ID/department "CD1093" when they ask. (this was listed in the paper next to the number).

They'll try to offer you a couple deal about ordering coins in the future, just refuse both, they'll ask for your info and give you an order number.

Figure for the very least $12 for $40 can't hurt. Searching for the phone number on google pulls up a similar ad. Link to google PDF/HTML

This is NOT the US mint and this is NOT being given away and this is NOT a good deal and this is NOT staying unlocked.

C'mon, can't you read, it's NOT the US Mint. The US Mint is not going to give away money. They may print up extra but they aren't going to give it to you or me. Maybe the IRS will in the form of a refund, but, anyway... read the fine print:

Everyone who gets in on this willbe among the first to get the U.S.Government?s dazzling new PresidentialDollar Coins. The World Reserve has just an-nounced it is handing out an entire yearof the valuable coins free. These valuable coins are being given away free to everyone who beats the deadline to cover shipping and the $8claim

So, give them your CC for shipping and find out what else you get billed for over the next x months. Oh, and even if they don't abuse you in that way, free does not equal $8+Shipping.

Are these even US currency? I mean, the Franklin Mint regularly puts out coins that are legal tender only in Liberia.
