I don't get why the media would want to create controversy for our guys when they are trying to do their jobs. I mean its not like they show how dirty the iraqi rebels fight.

I was reading this last night, the marine was shot in the face the day before....

 to the liberal media which thrives on dirty news like this like hungry vultures. :|

This kind of things should be handled internally and in a discreet manner.

The Liberals are trying to blow everything out of proportion and love bringing down our troops. :|

A Marine can be heard saying on the pool footage provided to Reuters Television: "He's f***ing faking he's dead."

"The Marine then raises his rifle and fires into the man's head," Sites said.

NBC said the Marine, who had reportedly been shot in the face himself the previous day, said immediately after the shooting: "Well, he's dead now."

Yeah, that sounds real justified.

You've got Iraqis taking and killing unarmed hostages then broadcasting the images across the 'net and they want to try this Marine for shooting one? Unbelievable...

Have any of you guys even seen the video? They showed it on CNN and the Insurgent is lying propped up against the wall, wounded and bleeding, almost unable to move AND UNARMED And had been in fact, left there by marines the day before and forgotten about. I wouldn't blindly support the marine until I see the video, IMO the marine killed him in cold blood.

the dude was unarmed...if it was an iraqi dude doing it to the marine we wouldnt be saying "oh thats just part of war"

I thought we're supposed to be holding the moral high ground...I guess not.

Nothing like the media leaving out the part where the insurgents are wiring up their dead and nearly dead with explosives and making them into corpse-bombs.

you don't know the rest of the story. The marine that shot the guy was previously shot in the face the day before by an insurgent PRETENDING TO BE DEAD.

I would have done the same.

A series of television pool images shot by NBC shows a U.S. Marine shooting dead a wounded and unarmed Iraqi in a Falluja mosque November 13, 2004. U.S. Marines rallied round the Marine...

with a pocket full of shells?

While he was rallying around the family he should have taken out the cameraman as well. God the US media is becoming Al Jazeera

The media just happened to be there following the troops (which they couldn't do without military permission). NBC showed the tape (I'm guessing with military permission...otherwise they would have snatched the tape right away).

That being said, even if he was shot in the face the previous day, this at least needs some investigation:
A Marine can be heard saying on the pool footage provided to Reuters Television: "He's f*cking faking he's dead. He faking he's f*cking dead."

"The Marine then raises his rifle and fires into the man's head. The pictures are too graphic for us to broadcast," Sites said. No images of the shooting were shown in the footage provided to Reuters.

It's hard to hold the moral high ground in a dirty war.

Agreed. We are already having a hard enough time with support at home and abroad without our military doing this sort of sh!t.

The article says that he was shot the day before. It says nothing about who it was by or whether he was pretending to be dead or not.

War isn't about morality, that's a quick way to die. War is about trying to stay alive.
