Much ado about nothing?

?Initial reports from the United States suggest [the pictures] were taken as the detainees arrived,? the spokesman said, implying the men were not tightly bound for long after landing.

Like I said before, it would seem like these guys are getting treated a heck of a lot better than inmates are in a lot of American prisons. Where's the outcry for them?

Whatever it takes!!! Terrorism is the least common denominator, bring it on.

Losers deserve to lose in my opinion.

I don't think they should OR are being misstreated.

And I think they probably have it BETTER now than they did before we took them.

That having been said.

How DO you think they would be treating any of OUR people that were unlucky enough to fall into THEIR hands?

I rest my case.

These people are dangerous, and any restraints placed on them are justified IMO.

They are given culturally-sensitive meals three times per day, they are allowed to practice their religion, and they are given time each day to move about and exercise. What is so inhumane about that?

Understand that terrorists are counting on the sympathetic hand wringers around the world to soften our resolve and provide another oppertunity for terrorism. Got small pox yet?? ;)

Once again, I will join this conversation and remind you bleeding hearts who are pissing and moaning about this that they are on a tropical island getting three hot meals a day, invariably the same food our soldiers risking their lives to guard them are eating. Their country, the one they raped, pillaged, plundered, corrupted and ravaged hasn't shed any tears to see them gone either. Show me one report where a credible government offical from Afghanistan has stepped forward to speak out on the treatment of these savages. Take your bleeding heart bull$hit elsewhere. Better yet, start an "Adopt and Al Qaeda" or a "Take-in a Talib" program in your home town for these guys and see how well you and your family last against these zealots of Islam.

You want people to get their rights or not?
Only if they deserve to have those rights.

Who are you to judge whether someone deserves basic human treatment?

Nice point, However I am one of the thounsands who awakes in the morning in a foregin land,
I put on the uniform that represents our country and what it stands for. We serve not for ourself
but for family, wives, children and fellow Americans. As we like to say for GOD, COUNTRY and CORPS.........
It is to bad that we who provide this freedom, cannot choose who we give it to.I have been to combat
twice for my Country, I think, hell I know I have earned the right to speak aginst these towel heads
in any way that I choose.

How can you think for one monment that these towel heads are human?
They had their one and only chance. When they heard of the building going down, they should have dropped
from the group and started dirt farming. I do not give human rights to those who were apart of a group that
has used an airplane as a weapon, when it was filled with men, women and children.

well, if we don't want to go down to the level of the terrorists, then we should treat them very humanely.

no, treating them inhumanely does not lower us to the level of the terrorists. if we say, made it our life purpose to kill civilians, then we would be at their level.

The ones in Cuba are the lucky ones. Those being held by Afgan war lords are locked in shiping containers with no air, light, food, water, or medical attention. Most will probably die.

<< Cuba can't be happy about these prisoners on their shore... >>

Cuba could care less. They are in a US military installation, so it's essentially American soil.

Now, onto my take on the whole issue...

These Al Qaeda a**holes are recieving better treatment than what a lot of the guys down here in tent city in Arizona deal with. These guys in AZ sit outside during the summer when it's 120 degrees wearing pink boxers, flip-flops, and eating bologna sandwiches for every meal. They have no privacy, live in a military canvas tent and swelter in the heat eating the same crap everyday for years. These Al Qeada prisoners are recieving a 5 course gourmet compared to these guys.

I'd rather see these Al Qaeda guys recieve worst treatment. I can only imagine what they would do to a captured American soldier. Would we ever see said soldier alive again? In one piece? I don't think so, not for one second. In retrospect, we are treating these guys VERY HUMANELY. If these bleeding hearts are queesy from seeing some terrorist wearing a blind-fold, then these liberals need to turn off the TV and face reality for once.

<< US is refusing to classify them as POW's so the Geneva Convention doesn't apply to them >>

What a loaded statement. It is like saying "The US refuses to rename hydrogen to nitrogen." You cannot call hydrogen by the name of nitrogen, no more than you can call terrorists "legal combatants" (here's the hint: because they ARE illegal combatants by all international standards and definitions including the Geneva Convention). They are what they are, why call them something they are not?

<< well, if we don't want to go down to the level of the terrorists, then we should treat them very humanely. >>

Sure, they should be treated humanely. The meaning of "humane" is NOT treated to every lavish accomodation, no more than "proper medical treatment" means a private room with HBO and a blonde nurse.

Conditions can be harsh and still pass "humane" standards.

I was going to respond to your comment until I got to this part. Sure you have the right to speak however you choose but I refuse to speak intellectually and constructively with a racist. Fought for our country or not, throwing slurs isn't something I enjoy particpating in.
