The Geneva convention didn't apply to the 3,000 people who died just because of where they worked, either, did it?
They're a hell of a lot better off than a lot of American prison inmates. They could have shipped them to Arizona and let Sherrif Joe have them. Then they'd get to sleep outside in a tent, get three bologna sandwhiches a day, and do hard labor from sunup till sundown.
I would be extremely surprised if we are mistreating these guys. They are trying to get information out of them, and believe it or not, torture is not the best way to get somebody to fess up to stuff. You befriend them, get them a little drunk, screw up their sense of time, and wait for them to let something slip.
