US Forest Service allows mining company to write its own environmental analysis

February 2018 documents show the U.S. Forest Service initially denying Midas Gold's request to take part in the biological assessment, citing concerns that the project would harm endangered animals, but by October 2018, the company was leading the assessment.

But then....

Documents also show that the company heavily lobbied the Trump administration while obtaining approval for its involvement in the report

Ok, you paid enough! Here is your pass! Do what you like! Joy!!!!

I wonder who got paid to ok this?

I wouldn’t worry about it, environmental stuff like this usually only affects rural areas and those areas voted for such things. I’m sure they won’t care if their drinking water gets contaminated, capitalism and minimize government involvement is the American way!

That's a pretty shallow hit piece, I think. I don't think the Nez Perce have tribal rights, either, given that their reservation is well north of the Stibnite site which is east of McCall-

It's an interesting project considering that the site is an environmental mess in the first place, something the company seems committed to alleviating-

Tribal consultation for federal actions is based on lands traditionally used by a Native American tribe or nation, not on current reservation boundaries.

This shouldn't be allowed, we should outsource all our polluting industries to non-white foreign countries along with all our electronic waste in exchange for cheap goods while we virtue signal how environmentally conscious we are,

and give all those now unemployed people in the poor rural communities basic income funded by taxes on rich urban blue states and cities,

and as an added bonus the city schools can have field trips taking the school kids that believe milk is made at the supermarket along with the rest of the food they eat out to this now pristine rural wilderness,

so they can see how the native banjo playing deplorables live in their natural habitat.

Which "made in 'Murica" electronic device did you use to type all that?

No one is perfect therefore we can never try to do anything. That's basically all of your posts summed up.

What's your solution? How do you want to make the world a little bit better? Can you do more than whine and bitch?

It sounds like the rural kids should have more field trips to the cities so they can learn how to be competitive in the world marketplace.

I am glad that you guys have finally dropped the pretense of being against social programs on ideological grounds and now just admit you want the government to give you money and not Those People.
