China’s “Thousand Talents” program to tap into its citizens educated or employed in the U.S. is a key part of multi-pronged efforts to transfer, replicate and eventually overtake U.S. military and commercial technology, according to American intelligence officials.
Meanwhile our administration is railing on H1B visas that would allow top foreign talent to stay in the US instead of going home. Not contradictory at all...

China could hire all those H1B folks that Trump doesn't want here, everybody's happy.

But then he's going to rail how they are stealing "our" technology, because apparently what's in the heads of those scientists is engineers "belongs" to America.

Weird, because modern republicans dont give a fuck about educating Americans and neither does Donnie.
Why are they whining about educated immigrants?

Because they are stupid. Immigrants are who created the greatness they are bragging about, but they think it's trailer trash Billy-Bobs who gone done it :)

Some of it probably does, but them's the breaks. Trump railing about it won't change anything. I think it's a dandy idea.

Unless they steal code or documents from their former employer, their ideas and talents belong to them to sell to who they see fit.

I suppose American companies could always hire back the higher cost people they fired or forced into early retirement to make room for lower cost H1B labor.

So wait, are immigrants uneducated rapists and gang members or educated threats to help our "enemy" gain superiority? I'm so confused.

Immigrants are bad and whatever argument is convenient should always be used to justify nativism. If they are low skill they are leeches and if they are high skill they are stealing good American jobs.

But the OP states they are leaving their high skilled jobs and going back home, leaving said high skilled job open for an American.... but it's still not a good thing evidently.

What about high school educated immigrants? Why are we supposed to fear them?

That's easy. They're *bad*. They're all bad because they're out to steal your country from you and turn it into some other country. Preferably one where everyone lives in trees and lives off leaves and bugs and sells drugs to yet another country that they're attempting to destroy.

If this is a genuine concern then it doesn't fit with a merit based immigration system that puts very talented foreigners in positions to facilitate such transfer.

Central American refugees would be pretty ineffective, I'm sure.

Ahh, thank you for letting me know how I should be outraged at the different socio-economic groups of immigrants. I was really confused at first but now I understand why they all are vile, evil, disgusting creatures that should be banished from our existence by whatever means necessary.

Or they can open an office in China and pay even less, and then Chinese workers don't even have to go to the US to apprentice at America's tech leaders. It's a global competition for talent, China is out to win it. If you want the US to unilaterally surrender it so that some old geezers can come out of retirement, that's cool, but it won't work anyways.
