Is The US totally nuts now or what. Its about a law that passed the senate to empower the president to use all means necessary (including military - oh, what a surprise) to free americans from the internatinal court. Funny guys u are, saying u want to bring human rights and freedom to the world but beeing scared when human rights are gonna be the measure even for u. Or was your understanding of human rights that everybody should have them except when u have to break them - I guess so, Emporers just make the rights they need...

"A Clinton-era treaty would allow the International Criminal Court to prosecute American soldiers for acting in military actions not first approved by the U.N. (such as our action in Granada, for instance). Bill Clinton signed this treaty just before leaving office, but President Bush has thankfully rejected this treaty and the give-away of our basic civil liberties."

I could not read the article (blocked for some reason), but I would agree with a law allowing the President to use force to free US soldiers improperly detained.

Interesting to say the least. I wonder what the motivator was. In my experience with working for the government, laws and policies are reactions to a particular event or situation. They almost never happen because someone thinks something might happen.
exactly, this was started because of the Augusto Pinochet and the Slobodan Miloshevic fiasco about trying make them held accountable for their actions.

I'm not that well informed about the International Criminal Court, but I could say that it threatens to kidnap US citizens if you're saying that the US Congress is threatening to invade Netherlands 🙂

This story, although inoherent in its linked form, stems from the fact that the U S has said that it will not allow it's military personnel to be captured and tried by the Haig (sp?) court without due process in this country first. It has also been said that if our personnel were captured by the Haig that retrieving them by force would always be an option.

That's The Hague. Note the capital "T" in The.

It does appear that the current U.S. administration is not interested in participating in the New World Order.

The US is the New World Order. At least according Dubyah's daddy.

Well how about the European/German Nazi-polizei starts cooperating with the FBI and US-criminal investigation agencies (in SEVERAL cases) and stops whining about the US having the death penalty .... then we MIGHT consider cooperating with the tribunal in Den Haag ...

OUR courts worked quite well after WW2 (trials in Nurenberg) while German courts FAILED after the iron courtain came down and Germany was reunited and the tribunal in den haag failed to convict Slobodan Milsoevic (i know the trial is still on but how much longer will it last ... ?)!!!
