I am pretty sure the Fusions are all assembled in Mexico.

Yup.

My car isn't listed, as it's an '02. My guess would be around 90%. It's an Oldsmobile Aurora, which was assembled in Michigan. It's also on the same platform/shares a lot of the same parts with cars that are all around 90%.

I did see this on CNN, too. The jeep wrangler (?) is less american than a sequioa. I can tell you one thing: This is news that domestics would certainly hate everybody to know. If it was truly there quantifiably for everybody the idea of buying american would ring even more hollow than it does now in terms of meaningfulness.

Wrangler 2d is 66% 4d is 69%, sequia is 80%, Don't be fooled by Toyota though, about half of their vehicles come straight from Japan, as with Inifiniti, and alot of the Acuras

80% for my CTS. The last 2 cars where assembled outside the country.

That kind of surprises me. Other than the Escalade, most Cadillacs come out of Lansing, MI.

Don't forget that almost all of the engineering and management is still in other countries on the foreign cars. Also most of the profits go back to their home countries. It would be much more interesting see how much of each dollar of cost stayed in the US/Canada and how much was sent to other countries.

Yeah, it's also worth pointing out that of the foreign companies, the vehicles with the highest percentages are mostly ones that are probably their most American-specific vehicles (large SUVs and trucks). It is still nice to see a decent percentage (65-75%, for the most part) on their most popular sedans considering the volume though.

Depends on how you look at things. If you already have a prejudice against the Domestics you will always take this type of information and twist it to fit your point of view. I'm looking at this info, and while it is true that the domestics do have dozens of vehicles built outside of the U.S. and Canada and with low domestic content, they also have far more vehicles built here and with more domestic content than all the foreign manufacturers put together. So i'm looking at this as a positive for domestics.
