CNN is saying Preet is not a man you want to mess with. I can't wait until he starts messing with Trump.

:)

Preet is now just like you and me. How are we going to "mess with trump" now that he's powerless?

I'm sad to see this guy go. We've had a lot of corruption in NY addressed by people like him.

Yea, but what if he has dirt on the orange menance? With Trump's temper he could go bananas if Preet starts tweeting the juicy details.

What sort of changes will come with the firing of these guys? Is this presaging a crackdown on immigration?

If he had dirt we'd most likely know. I wish Trump had honored his agreement, but he's perfidious by nature.

I agree the President has no obligation to retain them and that previous Presidents have replaced many. That is nothing new. What I see as different here is that, in the news articles I read, Trump met with him after the election to tell Bharara that Trump specifically wanted him to stay on, even going so far as to tell Bharara to go outside afterwards and tell the press that Trump has asked me to stay. And then, whoopsie, you're gone. I know I'd want it made official that the guy who just told me to stay is now firing me. Seems like more piss poor prior planning from the WH.

It wouldn't surprise me if Trump didn't even know who he was firing (asking to resign) when he gave it the go-ahead. Maybe he did want to keep Bharara on, but didn't realize he was one of the attorneys who was going to be forced out. Then he can't admit that he made a mistake, of course, so he has to go through with it.

That's unlikely. Apparently Trump tried to call Bharara the day before he was fired but since that's an egregious breach of the wall between prosecutors and the president Bharara refused to take the call.

Just heard about that. Yeah, it would be quite a coincidence if Trump were calling about something else the day before asking for resignations.

Still leaves me wondering why, though. Trump has rewarded loyalty in some cases, but doesn't seem to me like the type that would call up Bharara and personally give him an early heads up or apologize. It hasn't been his style, so far, which has been more along the lines of "pack up your shit and be gone by the end of the day."

This is much to do about nothing. Obviously Obama must have fired all the attorneys to hire these guys. Blah, Blah, Blah . . .

Cuomo and Albany should be celebrating about this time.

Yep. But compuwiz is determined that getting rid of him ASAP is a good thing because he's a dem. More like he is tough on corruption and WS, no wonder Donny and the crew are eager to send him packing.

Eh. Asking for the attorneys to resign is normal. Promising to keep one well-known attorney with a history of fighting corruption in November and then firing him in March is not normal.

Your problem is that you think trump cares or rewards loyalty, he doesn't. Narcissist's don't have the ability to understand loyalty let alone reward it. Trump simply keeps people around who are useful to him. Once someone is no longer useful to him he throws them away like garbage.
