It depends if their weapons were evenly matched. If you gave the U.S. army melee weapons, or you gave Sauron's army guns - I don't know which would win. I believe Sauron's army would win with melee, U.S. would win with guns.

It depends if their weapons were evenly matched. If you gave the U.S. army melee weapons, or you gave Sauron's army guns - I don't know which would win. I believe Sauron's army would win with melee, U.S. would win with guns.

Yes, ancient Sith lords were powerful enough to move stars with the force or destroy a planet. However Sith lords had a slight tendency to backstab one another.

And of course the US army could kill Sauron's army, it's called modern firearms. Or hell, you could just do what the current US army does and cluster bomb civilian populations because there's a slight possibility that anti-american troops are in the area (in other words what the Army does in Iraq).
