Why the fvck did they take pictures of a guy in what is clearly urban camo in a woodland setting.?😕

Its universal, wouldn't he be wearing it in the woodland setting, too? Maybe he'll curl up and pretend he's a rock.

Yeah, he's gonna pull a Konohamaru.
Wasn't he doing the fence thing?

yeah sopposed to be better. but man it just does not look like it would work.

heh they should have the people at Realtree design it! heh

Realtree camo doesn't blend you into the environment, it breaks you up, just like this does. It's amazingly effective for that reason, not it's color matching. Think about how you recogonize an object, by it's shape, not color.

yeah i know that. But comeone Realtree stuff looks neat!

Not in the desert or urban settings. But yes, very kick ass stuff. I had a friend wear it playing pball, he was posting up near a tree and stopped when he was spotted. After the fight, the person who spotted him said "I saw you near a tree, I turned my head, then turned back and you were gone." I watched this happen, my friend never moved after he got spotted, and yet 'he was gone.' 🙂

I have a closet full of it.

Might use some of the old stuff for Paintball games. i suck bad enough it might give me an edge! heh

Anyone know why they chose a blocky color pattern instead of smoothing out the edges?

Again, those blocks break up the pattern. Smooth edges would just make it have pretty colors.

I read your previous post, put I don't see how thats an advantage over smoother transitioning lines. Any sites that compare the differences between smooth and lego camo? I can't visualize a difference, and if anything feel like the lego would stand out more.

Upclose it looks like pixels. Move away from it and your eye is going to blend it. The pixels probably provide much better edge de-emphasis by your eye belending the adjacent colors together. I wouldn't be supprised if it provides much better edge transition and looks much better from a distance than hard color edges would. You have to remember that camo is a distance obscuring thing, as you move closer to someone the camo begins to play less of a role because you will see details that aren't under camo (like faces). Something that might be invisible (without movement) at 50 feet may be totally obvious at 10 feet. I have had this experience with real-tree, at close range it's the least obscuring camo IMO but at longer ranges in the right setting and you are invisible.

It looks like sh!t. I bet I could see that a mile away.

I bet you know alot better than the Army team that researched and built the design.

Yeah they only probably spent what millions on it? heck they could have just asked amdfanboy instead. darn he would have saved them a LOT of money!

Of course they have. But I think I'll trust their research for now instead of some geek spouting off that "It looks like sh!t."

Here's a dumb question about realtree.. when you go hunting why wear camo when you end up putting that bright orange glow-in-the-dark vest over it anyways?
