Well I think your analogy is flawed. One cannot be helped at all, it's genes and cells that cannot be controlled. The other is an expert that takes measures and practices to prevent the exact thing that happened to him, that being said I don't think it's funny either.

Nothing wrong at all; in fact, why not send a nice holiday card to his family and let them know just how hilarious you think it is that their loved one has been kidnapped. That will surely ease their pain and help them cope.
