Voted for my own thread but I really want to see a "Gif, Jif, or G-I-F" poll.

Don't want to post it myself though, that would just be excessive on my part.

You fail at the pollage.

I say gooey (GUI) around all developers. I say Earl around developers who commonly deal with URLs and I say U-R-L around other developers.

Every programmer knows what gooey (GUI) mean s but it seems like most get confused when you say Euri (URI) or Earl (URL).

URL vs Earl is actually a worthwhile question.

The OP's poll is just pure wankage.

-1,900,000,000,000,000 out of 10

No it isn't. The guy who CREATED the name says that it's U-R-L. To assume otherwise is idiotic. You will find people who have no idea what you are talking about among long-time techies and the general population. Indeed, I never heard anyone try to say it until I had almost two decades of experience and it was a PC shop owner confusing the eff out of a customer. It took me a couple minutes waiting to ask the guy about a part when I finally realized what he was saying and the customer likely never did.
