Urinating when wearing slacks--weave through the fly or the long way out?

I have noticed that some people move away from the urinal real fast. I haven't had the courage or bad sense to ask them how they are so fast. As for me, it takes a significant amount of time to undo the belt, one or two waist buttons, lower the zipper, and redo it all when I am through. These guys seem to be real fast as if they just poke it through the fly. Is that a common method?

That scene in Something About Mary has kinda soured me on that idea. I also don't like the idea of the cold metal of the zipper rubbing against my nether regions.
 
In public restrooms (including the office) it's through the fly. At home or other private places it's always sit down (remnant of childhood mental and physical issues). Undoing the pants just to pee just takes too long and is too much work pulling down the elastic and holding it out of the way.

And if you let go at the wrong moment it snaps up and you pee in your face. 🙂
 
I don't understand. That is what the zipper + flap in your underwear is for, why wouldn't you use it? So much easier than undoing the belt and such then having to retuck your shirt in and all that, why? Why not just unzip and pull it out?
 
I don't understand. Are you standing at the urinal with your pants down around your knees? Exposing your ass to the world?
