Does anyone know how to get around a thumbprint scanner on a laptop?

A customer brought his laptop in to my store today and wanted a cleanup. I cleaned adware, spyware etc out of it and rebooted. I needed him to be here otherwise i couldnt reboot the laptop to finish the cleanup so i called him and when i restarted it... the "scan your thumbprint" thingy popped up before the login and it wont work. All it says is "press control alt delete to manually enter your password" and he said he never set a password and it was only his thumbprint.

I have no idea how to get around this... no idea what to do. I cant boot into safe mode because the "IBM" user needs a password to enter safe mode even.

I tried a windows password hacking cd that i have and that always works... but on this computer it doesnt find a partition for me to login to.

Im very confused and hes kinda angry :(

Hit CTRL ALT DEL twice in a row. Do you get a conventional username/password prompt (actually, it sounds like you might be there already)? If so, try the username Administrator with a blank password, which is the machine's normally-hidden Administrator account.

Any good? (if this works, you should now back up his data to an external drive)

Also, was he encrypting anything with the Encrypting File System?

i got fed up and called tech support.. i luckily got someone that could speek english and they helped me :)

I swear i tried the admin account and it didnt work but it worked this time.. i also had to reset the fingerprint in the bios and uninstall/reinstall the thumbprint software. But now after everythings setup.. i cant get the normal login to go back to his username "LORD" Instead it shows "IBM" how do u change the default shown username? then the fingerprint thingy should work. It seems the viruses he had changed his username to IBM which is really strange.
