This is disgusting. This wont just hurt the US this will hurt the entire world. I can't believe some a$$hole would actually think of something like this!! :|:|:|:|
 
It's scary when you first read it, but then you realize that the majority of the proposed bills don't even get to be debated on the floor... soon, you realize that this bill hasn't even been proposed, but it is simply a draft.

Although, I must admit some of the posts in the similar thread in General Hardware that blamed the media for not covering this were quite amusing...

Ok, i'm doing this topic for a case for class, but i need a 'reputable' source for it, does anybody know if there are any out there? my teacher thinks this is fake and wnats a printed, reputeable source to prove it, someone pleas help me.................
 
I cant believe this. Im a UK citizen, so I cant sign the objection, but surely if Intel / Microsoft etc.. do this think, its going to affect all users globally? Can they DO that??????
 
Do not let this abomination of legislation affect our computing nation.

A conglomeration of media corporations would seek to gain domination over information.

A condemnation of those organizations will bring about their resignation.

So, dear friends, sign this petition and help end the conflagration.
 
i dont think this would ever pass... and if it did... just imagine what pissed of computer afficionados would do to the systems around the nation
 
I'm absolutely dumbfounded by this move.. My sentiments have been basically voiced ten fold in this thread. So all I need to do is sign, which I have now just done.
 
This Legislation made it to the evening news on Friday night....as usual with the Liberal Media, no mention was made of the actual intent or content and it's effect on our lives and our freedoms.:|

As usual with this type of legislation, even though it may be defeated now, it's evil head will surface again!

In stead of draft dodgers going to Canada we will have SSSCA dodgers that is total crap? but I guess from early American times going north is the way to be? Dodge slavery go north, dodge the draft go north, dodge SSSCA go north? I guess history does repeat itself :disgust:
 
I can't believe this, it is total bull. llegal to assemble your own computer?!?!?! WTF is up with that!?!? I am so sending a letter to my representative about this. Man, Canada is looking better and better....

Aw come on Tom, you know we need a few more laws
to protect all those poor folks out there in America.

(And of course a new bureaucracy to enforce each new law).
