I recently built a computer the specs are as followed.

Athlon 64 3400+ With Nforce board
1gig pc 3200
radeon 9600xt
60Gb Hard drive.

The problem is that when i try to turn it on the power gets to the cpu fan makes it lightup it's blue led spins for a second then stops. If anyone could help me i'd really appreciate it. I've had this computer setup in the case since the summer and haven't gotten around to fixing the problem yet.

What specific nForce motherboard do you have (brand & model). Also, what power supply brand & model.

I'm at work right now so i cant look at exactly what i have. I know the power supply is 550 watts. and the mother board i got in a combo from newegg. i'm just wondering if you a couple things that could be possibly connected wrong that would make the cpu not power on. I hit the switch and the led on the fan lights up for a second and the fan starts to spin then it stops.

I have a whole list, actually: second link on this page is a document with my list of things to check and some brief troubleshooting suggestions.

Top things to do: take the motherboard out of the case and lay it on cardboard so you know it's not short-circuiting on the case. Unplug ALL unnecessary wiring, including the case's USB ports and audio ports and stuff. Then try starting it with just the CPU/fan/heatsink, video card, and one stick of RAM in the slot that your mobo manufacturer says to put a solo stick in (see the manual). Ensure that you have your ATX12V cable plugged into the fitting, and note that the REAL ATX12V cable has two yellow wires and two black wires, no red or orange wires.

For this test, don't even have the mouse or keyboard hooked up, or any drives. Just the core parts.
