every single fan starts spining, all 5 case fans, cpu fan, video card fan, PSU fan. little lights on extra USB bracket lights up in back.

here is what doesnt happen....

the little lights at the front of the case dont go on, there is no image on the monitor, and my new NEC-3500A doesnt open when i try to open it.

specs:

AMD Athlon 64 3500
1 gig pc-3200 kingston value ram (i tried with 1 and 2 dimms in slots)
160 gig seagate S-ATA hard drive
sound blaster live 5.1
K8N Neo 2 Platinum mobo
NEC-3500A
Connect3d ATi Radeon x800 xt

i know that if someone can help me its you guys, so please help me out i really want to get this working.

hmm vid card seated properly? Lights on the front could just be improperly connected case wires to the mobo. Does it post at all? Has it posted ever? Monitor ok? Alot of possibilities just trial and error it you will find out soon. Post back soon.

post means show ANYTHING on the monitor right?, if thats what it means then no it doesnt post. ii dunno if has ever posted supposedly it had i guess cause the place said they tested it to see if it would work, it doesnt have windows installed yet. the monitor is fine i tried it on this pc, and i also tried putting the new pc on THIS monitor and it didnt work.

yes the power connector is in properly i think, on the x800 xt do i only need the 4 pin molex white connector or do i need that little one too cause there is a place for that. as for the PSU i dunno what the CMOS jumper is?

hmmm yes by the way post meaning your bios screen so you get no signal at all. hmmmm. Using same vga/dvi cord to connect with your monitor? Who built it and did they tell you that it posted to your bios screen? They had to use a vid card of their own to see that post, if that is what they told you. Try both dvi and vga if you have that option. You are narrowing it down 🙂

Yes the x800xt needs the 4 pin. Also have you connected both the 4 pin square and the 24 mobo connectors? Meaning 2 seperate power plugs need to go to your mobo.

yeah o i get no signal at all im using the cord that comes with the monitor to connect it to the video card, a reputable (supposedly) place put it together i bought it from them they said they put in their own card and that it started up just fine, i did go inside to organize wires for fans and airflow but from what i see everything has its own connection to the PSU besides the fans. do i need to connect the little thing on the video card aswell as the molex connector?

could an inproperly set IDE cabke (thin wide grey cable) cause the NEC to not open or should it open once it gets power.

Only one connection needs to go to the vid card and thats the 4 pin white one. What I was saying earlier is do you have 2 power connectors connected to your mobo from the Power supply? Meaning the 24 and the 4 pin square?

It should open, but you need your pc up 1st lol. You have no operating system or anything so not much can be recognized.

As far as the lights in front not coming on you probably accidentally hit them while fooling around in there. You got the mobo manual? U need it 🙂

i have the giant one with all the multi coloured wires, and yes the 4 pin one is also...(black and yellow on that clips on)

Ok read up in there spam and look for "How To Clear Your CMOS" It will be in there. It will also talk about a jumper setting (I'm not familiar with your mobo) but this is an easy process. Get back to me soon and let me know how the read goes. Ask me if you dont understand. 🙂

it says to move the JBAT 1 jumper to clear the CMOS, and move it from a 1,2 pin configuration 2 a 2,3 pin configuration, which is essentially just moving up one notch, but do i move it there than leave it there?

Move it there, pop your mobo battery out for 15 secs, then put battery back in, then put jumper back to orig position. Hope this works we are running out of things ta do lol. Might have to call the builder!

didnt change anything, what could be stopping my NEV from opening, and for the fan on the vid card to spin it needs the power connector right?
