Urgent: IC7/2.4C or NF7-S+2800+?

Hello,

I'm going to the states for a few days, and want to take advantage of the great prices/exchange rate (I'm Canadian). Here's my question:
Which of the above combinations will score higher (3dmark2001SE)? (FYI: I'm not a 3dmark whore, so please don't flame)

I've got a Prometeia, so I'm going to be OCing these suckers quite a bit. I've also got a gem of a 9800 Pro (can do 480/400 without any mods!).

Assuming I get decent steppings of either, which one will score higher when overclocked to it's max (all other factors being the same)? Any and all responses will be appreciated, as I am leaving today and need some quick advice/numbers.

Thanks,
M

Gee, thanks for the flame there. I wonder why the had to enact that rule, seeing how much of a pacifist you are. I wasn't trying to start a generic Intel vs AMD thread, I was asking a specific question (for the sake of the argument, let's suppose I'm asking about the motherboards).

Anyone else?

2.4C OCs way above 3 GHz which pawns any AXP.

i dont know about that, its a good cpu i dont know if it owns ALL AXP

At 3.2 Ghz, the P4 will beat the AXP 3200+. The 2.4C should OC even higher than that. Not sure how high the 2800+ will OC to.

Thanks for the replies - looks like I will be going 2.4C. Is the 2.8C worth the extra money (considering I've got the Prometeia, so the mhz/fsb ratio won't be as limiting)?

The thing is, the 3.2C might beat the 3200+, but the 3200+ only runs at 2.2Ghz. If you could bring it up to 2.8-3.0Ghz or so (as even 2800+ XP's have been known to do), would it still be slower than a 2.4C@3.4Ghz or so? Therein lies my dilemma. 🙂 Any more opinions or comments? All are welcome.

As for the P4 owning all AXP's, it's charts like this one that bring question to that statement: 🙂

2.4C and 2.8C both should OC nicely. You could go for the 2.8C if you want better OCing. However with the proper dividers and agp/pci lock, you should be able to pump that fsb up fairly nice.

As for my comment on the P4 owning all AXP's, I meant the OCed P4 2.4C into 3.0 GHz or 3.2 Ghz. Hell my 2.4C OCed to 3.0Ghz runs faster than stock 3.2 Ghz because of the pumped up FSB (1 Ghz).

You do realize that, in the time you've taken being inexplicably aggressive, you could have answered my question? Or maybe that would go against what this forum is to you - after all, the very concept of a forum ISN'T based on the exchange of ideas and information.

Oh wait.

You do realize that, in the time you've taken posting this thread you could have used the SEARCH feature & would have found your answer.

Or maybe that would be too hard for you to do?
