Urgent help required for motherboard problem

Hi guys,

Just got my self a new assembled computer... the problem is i cannot statr it meaning i cannot boot it........... i feel may be its the problem with my ram.... could anyone plz help me out here .. u see i have a dual channel mobo that is the p35 diamond... and i am trying to use only one 2gb DDR3 ram.... but nothing is happening do you guys think the problem lies in this that is do i have to use two rams to make the dual channel work.... would really appreciate if you guys could help out this novice. coz i have to work soon and i am in a fix so plz anyone out there plz help me out... i just want to know if my computer isnt working coz i am not using dual ram ... guys helppp

Your inability to boot may or, may not, have anything to do with your ram. Dual channel or, lack thereof, has nothing to do with booting. Is the ram you are using on the mobo recommended list? If so, is it in the correct slot for one stick of ram (typically the first slot)? Please post your specs and detailed info about what happens when you try to turn the computer on. Merry Christmas!
