Urgent Help needed !

Hey,

I seem to have screwed up big time, I have a 80 GB Harddrive in two partitions C: 30GB and D: 50GB. I had a backupGhost image of Win XP on the D: drive. I decided to copy it across and install a few new drivers, when I tried to do this the copy across to C: failed and I was left with a hanging system on bootup. The only option I had was to use an old Ghost image of Win Me on Cd Rom and copy that to the C: drive, I can now get Windows Me to load but it doesn't seen to have seen the D: 50GB partition. The C: in Win Me still says it's 30 GB so I'm guessing that the D: is intact but I cant think of how to access it, I have a load of files and programs in there that I need.

Has anyone got any clue to how I can get windows to see this partition ???
Any help would be great.

Yup until you re-install WinXP (2K or NT) you won't be able to read your NTFS partition D:

Unless of course you purchase NTFSDOS from Sysinternals or something like that.

Sorry I didn't mean to go mad with the threads, I posted and it crashed, I hit back and posted again. It worked but put a bunch up. Ah I forgot about the Windows ME wont see NTFS partition, bummer as I've not got my Win XP disc with me just now. Guess I'll just have to wait until I get it returned.

first thing is that their is no way in hell that you can get 2 partitions one 30gigs and one 50 gigs on a 80 gig hard drive.

Last time I checked 50+30 = 80 (Unless you're trying to argue base 2 capactiy vs base 10 capacity and rounding error, however that's hardly relevant to this thread. If you still wanna nit pick you may want to read this
