what's the significance?

That Uranus is not as quiet as people once thought.

big deal? if we're never gonna live there or if there isn't intelligent life there, who cares?

i don't see how it could be possible for Uranus to contain intelligent life

Well the sun only shines on the surface of Uranus every 42 days, so it would be hard for intelligent life to evolve there.

The Soviet Union has been secretly probing Uranus for years, but now the US will be sending a three man team, equipped to bring back soiled samples.

Another interesting note about Uranus: 95% of people pronounce it incorrectly, preferring the pronunciation referring to the body part. But, it helps weed out the ignorant fools :p :)

The body part pronounciation is actually the correct one.

People once thought that uranus was quiet? I've heard it's quite an inhabitable place with noxious gasses and high winds.

yeah, but i've always heard that on a quiet day, wind speeds would be somewhere around 1000 mph. it's an extremely stormy planet.

what i wanna know is why this is such a big deal.

As far as understanding fun wordplay goes, and therefore the real core purpose of this entire fvcking thread from the OP on down, you have your head up Uranus.

Watch out for klingons on your way out.

Nope, Dr. Pizza is correct here. However, count me among the "ignorant fools". There truly is safety in numbers.

Ewwwww, that's the bizarro world version of a certain famous candy bar.

You know, lodged deeply in the middle is a chewy, nougat-like surprise!
