upside down hard drive ok?

I recently added a vantec hdd cooler/heatsink and the only way i could get it to fit was to flip the hdd upside down. Is this bad?

Not at all. Mount it vertically too if you like.

Just to make sure,

The metallic side is the top and the side with IC's is the bottom, right?

Be careful not to poke any WD's too hard, they're quite fragile.

it probably doesnt make that much of a difference, but if you mount a hd upside down, layers of dust might collect on the IC side. just something to take into consideration.
