im thinking about getting a ups as my mums got crappy power cards and the elecy keeps going out when im on the compy can anyone give me some advise please..

fels what model have u got? and how long does the power last for???
I only need one to keep the compy running for about 5 to 10 mins..

I've got the BackOffice 500...I think. I'm at work now and can't remember exactly. I've never timed how long my battery lasts but it is plenty to save what I'm working on, close it and shut down.

Hey, you didn't give enough info about your rig (power reqs) but why not jump on that deal over at Home Depot. They have a Belkin 350VA Home/Office UPS for only $18. Its a great deal! If you're using a big monitor, get 2 of them for only $36 (one for the computer, one for the monitor). You can't go wrong with that price. Its just a basic UPS. It doesn't have all the bells and whistles like voltage regulation, etc, but you can't complain at that price.

I've been using CyberPower for years, and they have a stellar warranty. There should be a UPS sizer on their website for reference.
