UPS woes

I ordered a plethora of hardware from PCProgress.com to assemble a computer for a friend. I ordered it just about two weeks ago (Fri Oct. 6) UPS Ground and the parts have yet to come. We called last Friday after a week elapsed and they said it was shipped out and should be there Friday or Monday. Yesterday morning I called back and they said it was shipped out and should be there that afternoon. Naturally, the stuff still hasn't arrived yet. Should I give it another day or two before I call them back? I've ordered stuff from them in the past and I've always been satisfied with the delivery times. The only thing unusual about this order is that my friend payed for the stuff on his CC, but we used my address for the Shipping information, which they said was no problem.

They claim they already shipped the parts, I'm getting worried that UPS may have lost them or something. If these parts never show up and PCprogress claims they were shipped, what recourse do I have?

If you order with a credit card and do not revieve the items you can contact the credit card company and they will help you. They should take over from there and either get you your stuff or get you reimbersed.

2 things
1) do you have a tracking # for the shipment from the shipper?

2)sometimes CC companies hold up payment for confirmation on shipping to addresses other than the address on the credit card. They are slow and cumbuersome,but it protects the consumer fron fraud. It happens all the time, people using stolen cards on the net. I get 3 or 4 a month now.

Usually a company does not ship until all that has been worked out and the money has been transferd into the merchants account. Demand a tracking # from the shipper.

Ask them for a tracking number if they have not already given you one. Then check and see where it is, I had one package that took over a month from the time it was shipped until I got it. Three times it got to within 20 miles of me.

If they wont give you a tracking number I'd let my CC company deal with it.

Thanks for the info; they claim that the order was shipped out last Thursday, although I didn't get a tracking number. I'll give them a call right now and ask for it.
