fedex for me personally and in any company I have worked for. UPS is hard on shipments and have been extremely difficult to get claims paid on the high end items we ship EVEN WHEN THEY PACK THEM.

pricing is close for each at our discounts with a slight edge to FedEx.

When DHL was shipping domestically we switched last year and it was amazingly cheap, my boxes arrived clean and unbashed and they were fast....often 2 day was cheaper than ground and occasionally even overnight.

FedEx for me. UPS sometimes doesn't deliver till 8-9PM at my house. When your waiting for a package all day, that shit sucks.

I'm not exactly sure how they get packages at my apartment, but what I do know is that FedEx always gets them to me, whereas UPS always ends up leaving a note and I have to go pick it up at the sorting facility ~4 miles away. Unless I get it delivered to work, then it doesn't matter.

I prefer Fedex. UPS consistantly delivers packages that look like they were drop kicked.

My wife works for a mirror company. They had to file claims with UPS for damages all the time. They switched to Fedex, and have MUCH fewer broken mirrors.

Most people who prefer one over the other do so because of a bad personal experience, not because the likelihood of such a bad experience is any greater with one company over the other.

I for one have not noticed any price equality. When shipping packages I run the numbers at each vendor and use the least expensive per ship location and destination. Some days it is UPS and others it is Fedex. But, to entertain your notion; have you considered that prices are equal because they have reached the lowest they can go. Thus each side is matching prices and trying to win customers on service? A price war is a lose lose for each company and they know it.

I prefer FedEx, both for shipping and receiving. Lately, every package shipped to me via UPS has been rescheduled to a later delivery date after shipment for no apparent reason. Also, I have had UPS packages out for shipment a day or two before scheduled delivery in the past and they simply will not deliever them early. FedEx, on the other hand, doesn't seem to have any issues with delivering my packages on time, or even earlier than scheduled occasionally. I haven't noticed any significant difference in the condition of packages I have received from either carrier, so I don't have any problems with either of them as far as that goes. As far as shipping, I get a discount for shipping FedEx so if it doesn't go USPS, it goes FedEx.
