In my experience, UPS. If you get FedEx five day shipping, it will NEVER take less than five days. It will just sit in the nearest distribution center. As for damage or late, never had any issues with either company.

UPS, because I usually get my packages early. Fedex doesnt even want to go up my steps. UPS mostly does it unless they are tired that day.

They are both exactly the same. FedEx Ground used to be cheaper, but now both companies have colluded to keep prices equal. You will hear the same stories about both companies. Most people who prefer one over the other do so because of a bad personal experience, not because the likelihood of such a bad experience is any greater with one company over the other.

Got something to back that up?

I have worked very closely with both companies in the past, and there has been no hint of collusion, in service or pricing.

For packages under 10 pounds and that are not too bulky. The priority flat rate box cant be beat if you are shipping lead bars though.

UPS and fedex though will usually always out price USPS on shipping heavy and Bulky items.

For express delivery, FedEx. For regular ground deliveries, UPS. I don't like it how my local FedEx Ground delivers packages in retired Ryder vans. Must be only contractors.

Of course not, or else I'd be sending it to the Attorney General and not some dude on ATOT. I just used the word collusion because I find it fishy that both companies would all of a sudden mimic each other's prices 100%.

Years ago, you could enter in your package details and choose whichever carrier had the better price. Nowadays it's pointless because their prices are exactly the same every time. I find it hard to believe that it was done in a vacuum.

Of course, my assumptions alone are not enough to support a collusion charge, but I said it, so I guess I'll live with the consequences.

I've never had problems with either, thank goodness but UPS always seems to get to me a little sooner than Fedex.

I had the best luck with Fedex. UPS guys are lazy and will not ring a bell until its the "final" time they are going to deliver.

USPS is ok, but I usually have to go and pick up the items at the post office myself.

FEDEX

UPS employee's are generally clueless and the drivers are the laziest fucks around, too lazy to ring a doorbell or open a screen door and put a package inside so they just trow it on the front porch and walk away.

All the UPS packages I get are always beat up to some extent.

FedEx has always worked better for me. Mainly because they deliver at a reasonable time.

UPS always seems to deliver between 7 and 9pm, even if the item has been 'out for delivery' since 6am. I wouldn't mind as much if I didn't have a neighbor who receives stuff from UPS 3-4 times a week, always delivered mid-morning or early afternoon.

In the Mojave Desert of California, UPS always screwed up my orders. FedEx never had any issues.
In Oregon UPS was actually a little better.
In northern Virginia they seem to be about equal.

I guess it really depends on where you live.

I prefer FedEx but it depends as much on your local delivery guy as much as anything. That said I have had good luck with both but in most cases FedEx comes out a bit cheaper for me.
