Meh....one time I tracked a package from it's point of origin, all the way to the distribution center that UPS has in Mesquite, TX. Once it hits there, it's usually delivered here the next day (sometimes same day). When it didn't arrive the next day, I tracked it again, and saw where they'd sent it to New Orleans, realized their error, and sent it back to Mesquite......from where it was finally forwarded here, and I received it the following day.
I e-mailed UPS and asked them why I had to wait an extra day, and would they be willing to refund my shipping, since it was their screwup that caused the delay. Their response was that since ground shipping is guaranteed in 3 to 7 days, and since the delivery fell within that window, that they didn't owe anyone anything, have a nice day! Chances are, if you complained, you'd get the same answer, Butch1.
Sadly, around here, UPS drivers rock, compared to some of the morons that Fedex hires. One time I paid extra for Fedex 2 day delivery, which is delivered by a different driver/truck around here, than the driver that handles their ground deliveries. When I got home, I tracked it, and it showed delayed because no one was home. Problem is, I live in a gated apartment complex, and the call box at the gate has clear instructions for delivery drivers (like fedex or ups) on how to ring the office for entry. They've also received instructions that if the tenant isn't home, that the office folks can and will sign for packages, and hold them for the tenant (but the driver is still supposed to leave a notice on the tenant's door). This is a system that has worked well here for YEARS.......and yet one new driver couldn't follow directions, couldn't figure out how to ring the office from the gate, so decided that I wasn't home and was therefore unavailable for delivery.
Fortunately, the ground driver delivered it the next day, since he didn't have his head up his butt, like the girl on the 2-day delivery truck.
