Ok so not really Amazon's fault I don't guess.
Amazon had a sale on some HP toner cartridges a week ago and I bought 10 of them ($38 each, normally $129). These were sold by Amazon.com, not a 3rd party.
Well they were supposed to be delivered last Friday. They weren't on the UPS truck when he made his delivery. So I check the status online (as earlier in the day it was "out for delivery". Well it shows "Receiver has requested item be left at station. Will pick up in 5 business days". I never called and asked for that...I did call and ask what that was for. The 1800 lady said she didn't know but would put it down that I would pick it up that evening and the depot person would call and let me know I could pick it up.
Well no call Friday. So the status still waiting to pick up so I just head out there. They take me in back to get it. Box looked fine, a little beat, but nothing unusual for UPS. Seemed like the right size and weight so signed and took it with me.
Got back to the office and turned it over when I set it down and it made a sound like a bunch of Legos falling. Wtf?!
So I opened it up and it's full of reams of copy paper, permanent markers, water bottles, crayons, etc. None of it new either...
The box must have been packed so that the paper and heavy stuff was on top of the little markers so they wouldn't make a noise when moved around. Only when I turned it over did I notice something was up.
Well I called Amazon and she said they would just place a re-order and ship it again. That I'd get a confirmation email later this afternoon.
Sounded a bit sketchy to me...guess I'll wait and see what they email back. The lady on the phone didn't really seem to be too bothered by it. I mean in the big picture it's not much money, but someone made off with about a grand worth of toner carts.
I guess it was someone local. Saw that it was Amazon and heavy and decided to say that I "requested it be left at the station" at a time after the station was closed...Bought them some time.
Oh well. Anyone had any experience with Amazon and such matters? I know I can always dispute it with the CC if there is a problem.
Edit: Pic just for shiggles
