First of all, if you handle a minor inconvenience like this, I don't want to know how you handle a REAL problem.
On to my point. Why do you assume a "mechanical train" is a train that goes on railroad tracks? I have never heard a railroad train called a "mechanical train." I'd be willing to bet it is some type of conveyor type thing in their sorting facility that broke down, holding your package hostage (because it doesn't like you), hence the delay from 6am to 11pm. If you notice, the delay was while the package was at San Pablo. And what do you know... It takes just under an hour to go from San Pablo to Oakland, which is close enoguh to your 30 minute drive time claim...
As for why being 5 minutes later than your other package caused it to miss going out for delivery, who knows? But I bet you it will be delivered tomorrow, so quit your bitching already...
I find it hilarious that you have no idea how UPS works (neither do I, I might add), yet you think they are going to spend time coming up with imaginary excuses for delays.
Oh yeah, and UPS doesn't like you.

I just claimed that UPS sucks and how they used an excuse to avoid delivery of a package today. Then other people on ATOT JUMPED in and claimed that "UPS GROUND" doesnt guarantee a delivery day/date. When I proved them wrong, I got called a "jackass". Also, it was one of them who mentioned that Transportation problems are exempted from UPS Guarantee.
Now, if the mechanical train is NOT a transportation device and is something of conveyor type in a sorting facility, then it SHOULDNT come under the Delivery day Guarantee exception, right ?
The guarantee does not apply to UPS commercial and residential Ground shipments or UPS
Standard to Canada shipments that are picked up or scheduled to be delivered between December
11 and December 24.

For the last time, UPS does NOT provide guaranteed delivery date for ground packages, never had. Stop owning yourself and listen to a UPS employee. And yes, our business is to lie to you and mess with your packages

The train they are referring to is not a railroad train that goes across country. Its a little vehicle with carts attached behind it (like a train) thats used to transport packages around the warehouse. I work for UPS and I've driven the trains. But, even if there was a mechanical failure with a train then another could have been used since there is more than one train. The package was probably a mis sort.

Probably not. They probably just scanned the package at 11:00 when the train went down for record keeping. I bet the package itself wasn't even delayed but a few minutes at worst.
