so they say it wasn't well packaged enough? lol that's their excuse so they don't have to pay a penny for their own fault. their slow too and if you want it faster say 3 day it will cost twice as much sad but they like to take their time.

UPS busted a package for my system last week. There was over 5" of professional packing on all sides, but it was hit hard enough to still bend the case frame. Sorry, no pics.

This guy was moving all of his stuff from Canada to Florida and wasn't able to get insurance since UPS ground international isn't insurable. Would *YOU* risk shipping $2K worth of stuff internationally without insurance? Would *YOU* switch carriers if the competing carrier provided insurance?

On top of that, he mentions he packed well but I'm looking at the boxes and I don't see any double boxing. Would you send a loaded PC or G4 without double boxing when sending internationally and uninsured? And why the hell would you put tupperware along with your monitor??

Sorry, this guy just doesn't want to take part of the responsibility for his own actions. That or common sense was on the fritz the day he shipped.

edit: Oh yeah, the Slashdot article link

Between my dad & I, we've shipped probably 200-300 items via UPS (large, damageable items).

Never had a problem, but I won't say that it doesn't happen. Notice the guy didn't show the packaging...

I was in the office the other day and the CSR flat out told a lady, "Some times the boxes back up on the conveyor belt going up to the trucks and they just fall off to the floor." Well, those belts go up about 10 feet...

As for customer service (don't know about claims, never had one), the usual driver that delivers here is cool and the regs at the counter are very nice to me as well :)
