UPS Question

I'm talking about the delivery company we all have a love-hate relationship with. Love because they bring us new stuff, and hate because they don't bring it fast / well enough. ;)

Does anyone know if it is possible to pick up a package at their office before they try and deliver it?

I ordered the parts for a new computer, and they will not be delivered until Monday. However, they are already sitting at the local UPS place (office? warehouse?).

I know I could probably call and ask them, but the last time I tried that I had to say my tracking number into their phone system and then wait on hold for 20 minutes before again repeating my tracking number to the CSR. That doesn't sound to appealing today, seeing as I have a sore throat, so I figured I would ask here.

Thanks in advance!

I have never heard of anyone being able to do this. Try calling them before it reaches your local office.

I actually just went through this with UPS and my IRL tickets. the tracking showed they were in town but not scheduled for delivery until Monday (It was Friday for me too) I called UPS and they first said it wasn't possible, but after a brief discussion with her superior I was told I could come down and pick it up, which I did no problem. The only problem you may have is, if your local UPS has a seperate warehouse and sorting facility then they may not allow it if the package is still at the warehouse. I got lucky and my package was already at the sorting facility (Where the trucks load at), which is also the storefront, which allowed me to pick it up.

Good Luck!

You do have to cal them if you want to do this. I had to do it one time. Get out the phone book (ya know the big things with names, addresses, and phone numbers in it) and find the UPS listing. Hopefully they will ahve a local number and not an 800 number. GIve them a call and see if you can just go get it. As long as it's not on a truck already it shouldn't be a big deal.

I gave them a call, and thought I would post back with what they said for the sake of others.

After the tracking shows "DESTINATION SCAN COMPLETE" you can call their 800 number (1-800-PICK-UPS) and they will put the package aside for you to pick up.

Thanks for the input!

Edit: As a side note, I wish Newegg was still using FedEx. It would have been here already.
