Jeez, this is the second bad experience with UPS I had. I orderd a Scanner from Comp4Sure and the order processed quick and got sent to Austin quickly. Of course, I missed delivery on Friday which is when it arrived. Then Monday comes around and apparently a different driver with the package missed delivery because I was at work, but he marked it 1ST ATTEMPT. Now I just missed the delivery today because the focking idiot didn't knock loud enough. (damn air conditioner is loud) I just called the local office and the one helpful person in all of UPS said she would try to find the driver and arrange for him to meet me somewhere. This should be the third attempt, but they think it is the second. ARGH!!!

I mean, what the hell kind of way is this to do business? Why not let the person pick up the package on missed delivery THE FIRST DAY!??? I know this is cheapo ground shipping but can it really cost that much to have the package waiting at the warehouse? At least they could arrange for an exact time of arrival. Instead they give some ridiculous 3:00P-7:00P window to wait around. I don't have all day to wait for this damn package. With all the fancy internet technology these days I can't see why they don't allow for scheduled deliveries. It is frustrating to not have my scanner because it is floating around in some focking ugly POS brown truck all day. :|

Anyone else get annoyed by this policy of UPS to residential ground deliveries? Yeah, I would like some cheese with my whine. I'm hungry, too! Just a rant post. I was wondering if other people are annoyed as me.

I'm seriously thinking about switching to Fedex from now on, or I will have to have it delivered to work. And no, I won't have it delivered to neighbors, because I've already lost a harddrive to some jerk who stole it with indirect delivery.

Yeah that will be the day. Where's Star Trek technology when you need it?

Get to know your UPS man real good. I have home phone no. of mine and when there is a problem I catch him before he leaves in the morning and arrange to meet him somewhere. I've had the same UPS man for the last 12 years so this helps. :p

Hmm...good news. Just talked to that same nice lady at the local office. She said she talked to the driver and he is going to bring the package back to the local warehouse where she will deliver to me by hand as I drive up to the facility. (I guess they don't let customers inside the facility) I'll let you all know how it works out.

Good thing the last driver left a number to call the local office. I wouldn't have gotten anywhere with the stupid 800 number.

EDIT: Doomer, Well I guess the nice people in Savannuh Geojah have reliable drivers. Just this delivery I've had to deal with two different drivers. I'll definitely try get this lady's name and use her in the future.

I heard that FED EX lets you pick up your own package after a failed attempt. It's like they leave a note telling you where you can pick it up and during what hours.

Yes, Fed Ex does that. This can be very convenient if you live by yourself, and your neighbours don't want to help you with your packages.

That's why I always choose Fed Ex whenever available. Death to UPS.

That's cool. But Fedex is so darned expensive...But I know businesses need reliability so they use Fedex next day or 2-day service alot.

At least there is a happy ending to the story. I got my package and the Canon Canoscan FB1200 seems to work great! Photo scans are great, but B&W is a bit slow. I love SCSI!

I always just leave a hand written note w/ my sig. Saying to leave it on the porch. I just pray it's still there when I get up. I always miss em by a few minutes anyway. So the stuff never stays out there long, and it's covered.

The lady never delivered it, nickadick. Some other driver came out of the warehouse to hand me the package. (note I did NOT say hand me his package! :p))

I would never leave the package at my door after what happened to my hard drive. Sure you can file a claim, but it's just too much of a pain in the ass.

Also, if you sign for it and it get stolen, they may not cover it after the signature acceptance.

Another RANT.

UPS is supposed to deliver my Cowboy Bebop DVD today, but they reschedule it to tomorrow. Oh well, it's only one day. But it's nice to complain. :)

UPS sucks man
first attempt
they come early say 1:30 pm
second attempt 3:30 pm
third attempt 5:30 pm
screw them
use priority mail instead
screw all those company that uses UPS
they take so f**king long!
they charge too much for their service and can take
7 day
ridiculous
unfortunately it is very hard to convince company to use
priority because of their stubborn mind
I try once
but guess what?
they say it more reliable and have tracking number
basically they want ya to wait longer for the package
and charge you more for shipping
SCREW UPS
SCREW them
Hate UPS delivery take freaking too long or you
gotta pay 20 freaking dollar for 2nd day
sh$t sh$t!
you can have 2nd day with priority for only 3:20
company that use USPS charges $4.00-$5.00 including packaging.
Use the mail man, he deliver your mail everyday he
is more good at which houses to give package to
same with Fed Ex.
screw them too, you can pay alot less with priority mail and
just as fast!

Actually most of the drivers in "Savannuh Geojah" suck. You name it, they've done it. My driver has been with UPS since the stone age and so gets 5 weeks a year vacation. He takes them a week at a time so I have plenty of opportunity to sample the rest. :(
