Maybe he thinks you're hot and is marking his territory so no other UPS men come and hit on you.

Pissing once in a single spot will not kill the grass. Dog piss kills grass because they piss in the same spot hundreds of times. Anyone who thinks this effects their lawn in the slightest is an idiot.

Wait, what? You don't make sense.

I don't think I'd do what the UPS man did, but if a UPS man came and did that in my yard, I'd laugh. Does that mean I don't respect other people's property? It just means I don't care so much about my own.

 No, it means that the UPS guy had no respect for your property.

Huh? I work for UPS? News to me...

And they kill it do to the high concentration of nitrates. I have three dogs. I know.

OP - if the episode bothers you, call UPS and file a complaint

I have 2 dogs and from personal experience, the only time they managed to do considerable damage to the lawn was during the period right after winter and before spring really kicked in. They burned a few patches into the lawn, but once spring kicked into full effect those brown patches greened right up with the rest of the lawn and it's been that way ever since regardless of where they pee.

Male or female? Females are really the culprits since they squat to pee and more than likely will go back to the same spot.

If I don't want yellow dead spots, I have to douse the area where my dogs pee wit water to dilute it.
So...unless the UPS guy is a female dog, no harm no foul.

If you didn't live in your mom's basement and was an actual home owner, you'd be offended by someone peeing on your lawn. Obviously, you don't respect other people's personal property.

Sorry, but not all of us homeowners cut our grass with a ruler and pair of scissors. That doesn't mean we live in our Mom's basement, it means we have more important things to worry about than some guy peeing on our lawn ONE time.

Hi all,

Today I had a package delivered by the UPS driver and, since I have the day off, I was at home to accept the package when he arrived. After he gave me the delivery, I went to the window to watch him leave. Well, to my surprise, instead of walking directly back to his truck, the driver walked over to a tree in my side yard. He then proceeded to stand behind the tree (for cover) and peed directly in my yard. He was only about 12 feet from the house when he did it and this completely pisses me off. I realize I should have said something then but was so shocked that I really didn't know how to react. Does anyone know what I shoud/can do?

What do you do when the birds fly over your lawn? This is what comes to mind:

I could you see with your hard hat in one of these.

man has been pissing on the ground for many many years.

I have a couple of problems with that:

1. Urine leaves yellow spots on the sod. That's why I taught my dogs to go in the leaves.
2. I don't want my dogs or myself walking through a grown man's waste.
3. If he did it today, there is no telling how many times he has done it when I am not at home.

1. lol, are you that anal?
2. then wait until the first good rain before you walk over there
3. 0 times, maybe?

The whole dog piss thing is a myth. 3 big dogs sometimes 4 in my yard and no yellow spots and yes 1 of my 3 is female. The damage to my grass is all from the dogs running around in the same spots and digging.

Piss Balloons =!= natural bodily function

How large is the female? It's definitely not a myth. Just do a google search. Heck, there are a number of products out there to help resolve the problem.

Just took a pick of the corner of my patio, done by my two female Ridgebacks - Backyard Yellow Spots

Yes, it is not a myth, we have yellow spots from our female Boston terrier.

But, really, did you just go take a picture of your dogs' piss spots for an argument you're having on the internet?

OK, here's the plan. I am going to get a package delivered next week (Monday) since I have that day off and will be home most of the time. A couple of buddies are going to come over as well to help me pull this off. Prior to the UPS driver arriving, we are going to fill up a quart jar with soured milk and pureed durian purchased from the local Asian market. When the driver arrives, he always parks on the side of the house by the garage and walks in front of the house to the front door, out of sight of his vehicle. I will accept the package as usual but will also have some sort of printout from UPS.com about prepaid labels and ask a few BS questions about how that works simply as a method to stall. During this time one of my friends is going to be filming with a video camera in a hidden location and the other is going to go dump the contents of the jar into the truck's floorboard. When the driver gets back to his truck and gets inside, he will be greeted by the most wonderful smell! My friend is also going to do something else while he is at the truck, but you will have to wait till the video is posted to see what that is... :D

I'll be the first to admit its not the "mature" thing to do but I just want to have a little fun at his expense. He is the one that wronged me, after all.

Coming from the people at ATOT who think there is nothing wrong with pissing in a stranger's front yard, I'll take that as a compliment.

What you're failing to get is what is wrong is you freaking out and not knowing proper lawn care (ie, thinking it will cause damage).

Second, if you don't piss on your own lawn it was never yours to begin with.

Order a potty, demand the same courier driver, and when he comes to deliver it just unwrap it in front of him and then give the potty back to the courier.

Or you can just beat him to death with it

um. don't do that. for as stupid as the dude acted, don't do something equally as dumb and run the risk that he reports you to UPS who then chooses to go after you for damages

What the UPS guy did wasn't dumb at all. This new plan is the worst idea I've ever heard. I can't believe the OP could possibly think this is a good idea.
