Looks normal to me. You ordered ground shipping and will be getting it after 6 days transit time.

That's the scheduled delivery date, like KoolHonda said that's how long UPS ground allows.

I'm not sure if it's the same policy everywhere but with UPS where i live if the thing's in town they'll delivery it. I live an hour away from a newegg warehouse and can order stuff via UPS ground and it'll arrive on my doorstep by the next evening even though the scheduled delivery date is a week from then, it's a pretty sweet deal really.

Yeah, why it's bouncing halfway across the country and back is strange, but a part with ground shipping leaving on Saturday and arriving on Thursday is normal. EDIT: Hehe, ever since Newegg opened warehouses on my side of the continent, it takes even longer than if the part shipped from CA. Maybe it's just a NJ thing;)

I live in NJ and Newegg now charges 7% NJ sales tax since they have a location here. I just ordered a DVI cable today from ZZF with 2-day Fedex that was cheaper than Newegg. I wish Newegg would have located to Delaware were there is no sales tax and I would save 7% even if there was a sales tax in Delaware.

I don't know why, but I can order say 4 parts from Newegg. 2 ship from CA, 2 from NJ, and the CA parts beat the NJ parts by a day or two even though it's like 3 times the distance. Maybe UPS just doesn't like NJ

I wish NewEgg would create a NewEgg2.com site and have half of their wearhouse serve one site and half serve the other. That way everyone avoids sales tax and we can pick where it ships from.

Stores have to charge tax in any state they have a B&M presence. It wouldn't matter whether your product shipped from that location or not, so you'd pay tax regardless. Look at Outpost.com - they charge tax in CA, TX, IL, AZ and any other state that there's a Fry's location.

As far as shipping/delivery times go, "three-day" shipping is nothing but a ploy by the major shipping companies to charge more money for worse service than you would get if you chose the cheaper "ground" service. The only true benefit this service might possibly offer is if you live on the east coast and your order ships from the west coast or vice versa. Ground shipping halfway across the US will be delivered - on average - within 3 days. Ground service within a one-state radius has a VERY good chance of being delivered the next day.

Ok but other people like me prefer it the way it is.
My last 'egg order was for 3 parts, 2 came from NJ and one from CA. The combined shipping charge was only $2 more for the 3rd item even though it obviously had to be a separate package.

I get the 3 day thing from newegg (UPS) and I love it whenever it ships from NJ. Gets here in 2 days :)

You are correct that they have to collect sales taxes if they have a distribution site in the state you are ordering from. My idea was to create two identical NewEgg stores and split the distributors between them that way you can always order from the one that isn't in your state and thus never pay sales tax. The two NewEgg stores would have identical prices but would be incorporated seperately while still having their stock owned by the same company that owns NewEgg now. You would just go to NewEgg1 or NewEgg2 depending on what state you live in. They could even have an autodirect service that sends you to the right one based on your IP.

This seems to presuppose most (if not all?) items would be available at both. I tend to think it is the opposite, that a large part of why there are two is because each has different suppliers' wares. IMO, if they could ship an entire order from the same warehouse, they'd probably have already set the system up to do that, but for their shipping cost benefit rather than tax benefit to customer (if not both).
