Woohoo. I called back after the asshat hung up on me and got a girl this time who was nice. She forwarded the problem to my local branch and they just called and told me they were sorry and that the driver recieved a warning. Didn't get him fired but better than nothing.

Yeah either the guy is noobing it or he doesn't feel like delivering it

I see not point of doing that.. as the driver has to be responsible and come back the next day

Hell... I've missed more than 3 delivery attempts and the driver still delivers it to me 🙂

I feel your pain. but I get it with fedex

Fedex has claimed our office building doesn't exist.

except UPS, DHL and TBS courier find it just fine.

plus its kinda hard to miss a 6 story building.

If you call them and they don't help you - then do the next best thing.

Never use their service again.

More lost service for a poorly run company is a good thing for the market. Next time use an alternative if possible. At least yours doesn't chuck the package up the stairs because they are too lazy to walk like mine did. :Q

You're delusional if you think losing a few savvy customers matters to a company like UPS...

Don't order anything that can break easily if its coming via UPS.

Obligatory FEDEX FTW!
Yeah.......FedEx, right. What the OP complains about is what I have with FedEx. Last six packages shippped to me by FedEx.....all scanned in as "Person unavailable/business closed" on the day it was scheduled for delivery....once it was scanned that as it was loaded on the truck at 7:30AM. The FedEx CSR supervisor I spoke to on the phone that evening was dumbfounded by that one.....how was a deliver attempt made when it was being loaded onto the truck?

If your local FedEx drivers are good, then FedEx is great I suppose. On the other hand, if your local FedEx is using contract delivery drivers, as many people are subjected to who live in rural areas, then you are open to the whims of the driver deciding if he or shie will deliver yoru package today, tomorrow, or next week.

On the other hand, in over a decade, this area's UPS had never missed a delivery date for me and is always here by 10:30AM. Guess it's all in the local drivers and how they like to work......or not.
I had a similar experience with FedEx. The tracking number to my new camcorder showed "Package left at door at 5:34PM" and I got home at 6:30PM. It was going nuts asking the neighbors if they saw that package and wondering why the driver didn't leave it in the big plastic bin with the open padlock we have for deliveries.

The camera showed up in the bin the next day. I was relieved but kind of ticked off.

I have the same problem with the TPG (the Dutch postal service), FedEx and UPS. The track-n-trace (TPG's invention 😛) said that they attempted to deliver at 9:03 or something, but I was at home the whole time. I've got more than enough problems with FedEx. They're hella expensive where I live (not America, duh 😛), and they handle packets like they're bricks. "Here you go, sir." *drops packet, aquarium inside shatters* And when I tried to get my money back for the aquarium the FedEx driver broke, they said they had a release form that stated I was happy with their service and accepted the package. I never signed anything! UPS is lazy, and the driver backmouths me. I asked him why the package was so late, as the guy on the phone said I would have it by Monday, and I didn't get the package until the next Monday. I was told to go to hell (but, in Dutch 😉).

All in all, I think I'll just go and pick up my own packages from now on.

Every time I get something shipped via UPS I have to go pick it up. The driver never even attempts to deliver. When I go to the tracking it gives me this BS. I was home both times but the driver didn't even attempt to deliver. He obviously didn't feel like climbing the stairs. If he had there would have been something on the door but there is not.

Last time this happened

Is there anything I can do to get this guy fired? I'm going to call up UPS tomorrow and see if I can talk to a manager or something. I?m not going to hold my breath though since every time I have called so far they have been EXTREMELY unhelpful. Looks like I?ll just have to stop buying from venders who ship UPS.

I had a similar problem. After I complained, UPS "delivered" the next package but it was not signed delivery so I never received it. So I spoke with several vendors and they also complained (especially since they had to resend). Eventually, the UPS guy "apologized" to us... it was strained and awkward. I am simply avoiding them or requesting a signed delivery if I *must* use UPS.
