The OP is just lucky that what was in his box was not what the UPS person who cut the hole in the box was hoping it was. Otherwise he would have received a box with a snickers bar in it, instead of his cable and input jack.
 
UPS doesn't cut freaking HOLES in the box. They'll cut the tape and just open the damn box by the flaps. You know, the way normal people open boxes to inspect contents instead of a square hole after somehow automagically precognitively KNOW what's in the box and the size and where to cut. Way too much effort into a silly theory. What reason does UPS have to cut a hole in your box instead of just open the box properly for inspection like they always do? lol...
