UPS confusion

Hey all.
So I'm in the market for a UPS backup for my desktop. This summer has been annoying with brown outs.
Anyway I have no idea what to look for in a decent backup, spec wise.
My desktop has a 650watt psu. Do I try to shop for one that has equal to or more wattage or VAs?
My goal isn't to run my computer for several mins off of one, just need it to last like 5 seconds. Again these brown outs just last 1-3 seconds. I just dont want my computer to suffer the hard power outs.

And you should match your PSU's power raiting with the UPS raiting or try to get as close to it as possible.

Reason is, if u have too much current being pulled by UPS, it will shut off saying its overloaded... 550VA/330W means.. it would probably not be able to keep anything but your PC in check. NO LCD...
A 600W would give u some flexibility... like the ability to add a LCD... provided your PC isnt pulling much to begin with.

UPS arent dumb surge protectors... if they pull too much, they will stop and pout at you with BEEP BEEP BEEP saying its overloaded.
