Uploading first web site - where's the best(cheapest) place to go?

I've been designing a site(offline) on and off for the past couple of months now - and I want to get it online. Got a couple of questions before I do though.

#1) Where is the cheapest/best place to register my domain? I've seen godaddy at 8.95/yr - would that be the best place?

#2) Where would be the cheapest/best place for webhosting?

The site is supplemental info for a fantasy football league I run. It'll be fairly small <20mb - and only be accessed by 10 people (and whatever Google'ers come across it). So, I don't expect a lot of traffic. I'd like to get the best product for the least price.

Any information - recommendations would be most appreciated.

Thanks much!

wow...and RossMan hasn't chimed in yet. He is slipping in his nagusitude.

use the search function for a RossMan post. He seems to be spending an awful lot of time explaining himself.

GoDaddy and Namecheap are the favorites for domain registration.

Ripplehost has many recommendations for cheap service but you get what you pay for in terms of support.
Dathorn is hands down the greatest host I have ever used, but they're probably overkill for what you need.
RossMAN will probably be able to hook you up with some free space..if not, PM me and I might be able to spare some.

I have used Godaddy for all my domain purchases. No problems so far with them. I also use RippleHost to host my sites. $5/Year is definately within just about anyone's price range. Especially if you are just fooling around with a site. You get alot of nice options with the price too. And as stated, you get little to no support. Just a help forum.

If you want to check out the speed, you can click on the link in my Sig to one of my sites, Foose.net.
